This policy explains what information Sea with Melody (seawithmelody.com) collects and how it is used. We’ve kept it plain and specific to the services this site actually uses.
Information we collect
- Email you send us. If you email melody@seawithmelody.com, we receive your email address and whatever you include in your message. We use it only to reply and to keep a record of the conversation.
- The Sea Letter newsletter. If you sign up, we collect your email address and the date and time of your sign-up and confirmation. Subscriber details are stored in our WordPress database using MailPoet, and newsletters are delivered through the MailPoet Sending Service, which processes your email address to send them and may record opens and clicks. You’ll receive a confirmation email before you’re added, and every newsletter includes an unsubscribe link. We never sell your email address.
- Server logs. Like most websites, our web host may automatically record technical information such as IP address, browser type, and pages requested, for security and site operation.
- Site administrator cookies. WordPress sets cookies for people who log in to manage the site. Regular visitors don’t need to log in.
What we don’t currently use
- No contact form — contact is by email only.
- No advertising networks or affiliate tracking.
- No analytics service.
- Comments are turned off.
Fonts and images
Our fonts and images are hosted on this website, so viewing a page doesn’t send your information to font or image services.
Sharing and links to other sites
The “Share this story” buttons are simple links. Nothing is sent to Facebook unless you click the Facebook share link, at which point Facebook’s own privacy policy applies. The site also links to the Sea with Melody Facebook Page and Group; if you visit or join them, Facebook’s privacy policy applies. Articles link to outside sources; those sites have their own privacy practices.
Embedded content
Some articles may include embedded content (for example, videos or social posts). Embedded content behaves as if you visited the other website, which may collect data about you.
Data retention and your choices
We keep emails only as long as needed to respond and maintain records. You can ask us to access, correct, or delete information you’ve sent by emailing melody@seawithmelody.com.
Children
This site is intended for adults and is not directed to children under 13.
Changes to this policy
We’ll update this page whenever the site’s services change — for example, if we add a new email or analytics service.
